Amélie-Julie Candeille (30./31. Juli 1767,, Paris - 4. Februar 1834, Paris) war eine französische Komponistin, Librettistin, Schriftstellerin, Sängerin, Schauspielerin, Komikerin und Instrumentalistin.
Candeille stammte wie viele Musikerinnen ihrer Zeit aus einer musikalischen Familie. Ihr Vater Pierre-Joseph Candeille war Komponist, Schauspieler und Opernsänger.. Candeille besaß ein natürliches Talent für Gesang und Cembalo und trat bereits als Kind in Kammerorchestern auf. Mit 7 Jahren spielte sie in einem Konzert vor dem französischen König und soll neben dem jugendlichen Mozart ein Konzert gegeben haben. Mit 13 Jahren trat sie als Sängerin, Pianistin und Harfenistin in der Öffentlichkeit auf. Mit 14 Jahren wurde sie in die Freimaurerloge "La Candeur" eingeweiht, in der sie mehrere Dramatiker wie Olympe de Gouges und andere einflussreiche Persönlichkeiten traf, die ihre künstlerische Karriere in der Pariser Gesellschaft förderten.
Durch den Einfluss ihrer Beschützer debütierte sie im Alter von 15 Jahren am 27. Dezember 1782 an der Académie royale de Musique in der Titelrolle von Glucks Iphigénie en Aulide, in der sie nur mäßigen Erfolg hatte. Mit 16 Jahren gab Candeille ihr Fortepiano-Debüt im Concert Spirituel, wo sie ein Konzert von Clementi aufführte. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt komponierte sie bereits Sonaten, Romanzen und Airs für Cembalo und Klavier. Um ihre Familie zu unterstützen, kehrte Candeille auf die Bühne zurück.

Like many female musicians of her time, Candeille came from a musical family. Her father, Pierre-Joseph Candeille, was a composer, actor and opera singer. Candeille possessed a natural talent for singing and harpsichord and performed in chamber orchestras as a child. At the age of 7 she played in a concert for the French king and is said to have given a concert next to the young Mozart. At the age of 13 she appeared in public as a singer, pianist and harpist. At the age of 14 she was initiated into the Masonic Lodge "La Candeur", where she met several playwrights such as Olympe de Gouges and other influential figures who promoted her artistic career in Parisian society.
Through the influence of her protectors, she made her debut at the age of 15 on December 27, 1782 at the Académie royale de Musique in the title role of Gluck's Iphigénie en Aulide, in which she had only moderate success. At the age of 16 Candeille made her fortepiano debut at the Concert Spirituel, where she performed a concert by Clementi. At that time she was already composing sonatas, romances and airs for harpsichord and piano. To support her family, Candeille returned to the stage.
